Camerata Chicago and Joffrey Academy of Dance join forces once again to give you an innovative show with some amazing music at the Artist Series. We’ll perform the world premiere of the stunning and specially commissioned orchestral ballet of the children’s story Ferdinand. You’ll love the dancing to a Vivaldi violin concerto and the ballet suite ‘Paquita’ by Minkus.
The orchestra will start the evening with Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony and Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture.

Enjoy a fabulous performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons by sixteen year old violin prodigy Amelia Piscitelli with poetry read by Steve Robinson of WFMT fame. These concerts are in support of Camerata Chicago’s Vivaldi Four Seasons Educational Recording Project. Including the poetry written by Vivaldi himself, the recording is for a CD designed especially for children to learn this classic and be inspired in the riches of classical music. Joyce Saxon is the Principal Project Sponsor. Amelia was featured on the 98.7WFMT Introductions radio show.
JULY 13 GRIFFITH: We take the orchestra to Indiana for a benefit concert in support of the recording project, at Griffith Lutheran Church.
JULY 14 WAYNE: Enjoy the Four Seasons on the lawn in the beautiful grounds of the Dunham Woods Riding Club in Wayne. Or sit in assigned seating and after the concert join us for our gala benefit dinner at the club house to support Camerata Chicago and the Wayne Area Conservancy Foundation.
World-renowned violinist Shmuel Ashkenasi will perform the famous Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with Camerata Chicago as the orchestra celebrates its 15th year. Our Principal Oboe Amy Barwan will perform a work from Gregory Hutter, “Still Life” for Oboe and Orchestra. We wanted to proclaim the arrival of spring with Beethoven, so enjoy the outstanding musical artistry of Camerata Chicago performing the Beethoven Symphony No. 1. Join us for what promises to be a wonderful orchestral concert with virtuoso soloists conducted by Drostan Hall.
Fourth Church Choral Society
Camerata Chicago performs with the Fourth Church Choral Society comprising an eighty member chorus, organ, chamber orchestra and twelve soloists.
The Fourth Church Choral Society is directed by John W. Sherer.
Conducted by Drostan Hall, this performance marks the first anniversary of Camerata Chicago’s appointment as Orchestra-in-Residence at Fourth Presbyterian Church.

Vivaldi’s Four Seasons will be performed by 16 year old virtuoso violinist Amelia Piscitelli. Steve Robinson of 98.7WFMT fame will narrate four seasons of poetry. Concert master Mathias Tacke, formerly of the Vermeer Quartet and Amelia will perform the Bach double violin concerto, conducted by Maestro Drostan Hall.

BAROQUE CONCERTI SUMMER FESTIVAL JULY 14 – 16
Enjoy the outstanding musical artistry of Camerata Chicago in a summer festival of Baroque concerti. Young virtuoso violinists Ellen Maloney & Amelia Piscitelli will perform the Bach Double Violin Concerto and the Vivaldi Concerto for four violins, with Concertmaster Mathias Tacke formerly of the Vermeer String Quartet and Songhea Sackrider. Conducted by famed Maestro Drostan Hall, Camerata Chicago will accompany Ellen Maloney performing the Bach A Minor Violin Concerto and the Vaughan Williams neo-Baroque Violin Concerto Academico.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Ivy Restaurant, Wheaton, followed by our wonderful summer Baroque festival concert of Vivaldi and Bach violin concerti. Only a few steps away, the afternoon concert will be at Gary Methodist Church.
