Caleb Logan, age 16, was inspired by our recent Sacred Music concert on November 17 in Wheaton to write a poem in a tribute to our Music Director, Drostan Hall:
Mr. Hall’s Movement by Caleb Logan
As a conductor his arm becomes a vessel
Filled with the energy to lead well
His body – it expresses the dramatic motion
Of the music guiding the performers straight on
to the ends of a timeless masterpiece
building momentum in the hearts and minds of the audience
The conductor leads a fleet
like a captain in a storm of rain and sleet
Extracting order from a chaos –
a group lost without his influence
Every guiding movement a rudder
that leads to a victory or blunder.
I thank you, Mr. Hall
for such an enjoyable and pleasant performance for all
for inspiring me with music in the form of beauty
and I thank God for blessing us with such gifts as these:
Skill, dedication, practice, and the beauty of a well done performance
such as the one performed the night of November 17.
